A creator accumulates memories, experiences, and inner reflections of life, chews and digests them, and then regurgitates them onto the canvas.
Therefore, a plain person paints plainly. An honest person paints honestly. I cannot make beauty more beautiful, nor ugliness more grotesque.
Only by uncovering the ordinary, by observing life, can we confront that ordinariness. Materials are merely a medium. When the medium is limited, we must look directly at the mundane existence of life—the monotonous repetitions. We must face the passing seconds, minutes, and days, and the growing sense of wasted time.
Gouache paint may be one form of a living fossil (who isn't, after all?). The painting depicts the present days (who isn't, after all?).
How to tell a story becomes the core.
A long-established restaurant, blending colonial style, exudes an almost ethereal aura, as if time has frozen.
Although there are no people, the warmth and sounds linger, like a soft murmur or the quiet eavesdropping on a neighboring conversation. It's not intentional eavesdropping; the sound simply enters the ear. And so, we glimpse the world from behind.
