Wang Sean’s A Wonderful Pass Through series presents boundless constellations when viewed from afar, and intricate star-like forms—numerous, minute, and three-dimensional—when seen up close. Through the use of unique structures and altered scales, he subverts the relationship between viewer and subject, guiding the audience into a labyrinth of forms where perception oscillates between the material and the immaterial. His works reflect the Diamond Sutra’s notion of non-Illusions, deconstructing and reassembling visual appearances to reveal the illusory and the real behind all phenomena. These compositions invite viewers to encounter their own inner stability through the act of seeing.
