The highly acclaimed Taipei Art Week will also return from October 18 - November 2, 2025, significantly expanding upon last year’s inaugural edition. Presenting eight major exhibition zones and eight thematic projects throughout the city, Taipei Art Week reaches widely into various corners of the city – collaborating with over 70 galleries, museums, art institutions, and artist studios. This year’s edition introduces new collaborations with art institutions and public art initiatives, infusing creativity into urban life. A major highlight will be the second edition of the Taipei Art Week Forum, which deepens the city’s role as a regional hub through meaningful international exchange and cultural dialogue. Together, these programs reaffirm Taipei’s position as a vibrant cultural metropolis in Asia.

This year, ART TAIPEI and Taipei Art Week will focus on the theme "Intersect: Diversity Equals Togetherness," reflecting the diverse and inclusive ecology of Taiwan's art scene while exploring the most pressing issues that face the global art community. Existing at the intersection of high-tech infrastructure and an inclusive civil society, Taiwan demonstrates a forward-thinking spirit in artistic creation – continually responding to discussions surrounding gender, ethnicity, and marginalized identities.

Key highlights include:

  • FOCUS | Film Sector: In response to Taiwan’s identity as a global hub of technology, ART TAIPEI 2025 will feature a dedicated video art section, focusing on digital moving image practices. The program explores how technology serves as an artistic medium, highlighting artists’ cultural reflections and interventions within contemporary social contexts.

  • Indigenous Art Exhibition Area: ART TAIPEI continues its collaboration with the Indigenous Peoples Cultural Development Center to provide a platform for indigenous artists to showcase cultural diversity and contemporary expressions. This area will highlight the unique aspects of Taiwanese indigenous culture within the international art scene. Through exhibitions, panel discussions, and interactive activities, it aims to promote inclusive dialogue among ethnic cultures and realise the ethos of diversity and equity.

  • Taipei Art Week Forum Exploring Asia’s Role in Shaping the Future of Art

The Taipei Art Week 2025 Forum brings together influential figures from three major international art institutions: Alexandra Munroe (Senior Curator at Large, Global Arts, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation), Pi Li (Tai Kwun Head of Art), and Emily Pethick (Director of the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten). The Forum will foster in-depth dialogue on Asia’s growing influence in the global art landscape, offering a high-level platform for cross-regional cultural exchange.

  • Debut of the Thematic “Art Bus” City Tours

Taipei Art Week debuts its Art Bus, connecting the public with key cultural venues through themed routes that transform the city into a curated, cross-disciplinary art experience –blending arts into daily life.

  • Asia in Conversation: A Tri-Regional Collector Exchange

Bringing together collectors from East Asia, Southeast Asia, and beyond, “The Collector Circle” will foster dialogue and regional synergy, positioning Taipei as a strategic hub in Asia’s art market.

  • Public Art Revisited: Curating Urban Memory

Curated by Yu Chih Hsiao, Associate Professor of Architecture at Shih Chien University, the public art program highlights iconic works like Yuyu Yang’s Advent of the Phoenix and The Garden Outside of The Cage along Dunhua South Road. The program also reflects on recent large-scale public art initiatives across Taipei, inviting audiences to rediscover how public art shapes daily life, urban space, and collective memory through varied forms and scales.

Claudia Chen Ching-Ying, Chairperson of the Taiwan Art Gallery Association, stated, "For over 30 years, the association has been dedicated to promoting the development of the art industry, advancing art education, and fostering international art exchanges. This year, ART TAIPEI and Taipei Art Week will focus on the theme 'Intersect: Diversity Equals Togetherness,' featuring a series of activities including special exhibitions, panel discussion, and forums that delve into the diverse aspects of contemporary art. I am delighted to see more local and international galleries and art institutions joining us to showcase the versatility and vitality of Taipei's art scene. I look forward to engaging and discussing with industry peers and art enthusiasts during the events."
