Lee Dong Eun is an artist who paints traditional and more fundamental Western paintings. The traditional method referred to here is to draw everything as it appears (Realist) without adding or subtracting. If the object is small, draw it small, if it is large, draw it large, and if it is dark, draw it dark. Although it may have lagged behind flexibility or trends, Lee Dong eun is meaningful in showing the “tradition and foundation” of “Western painting” painted properly by “Asian.”

The object of still life is his medi um of communication between the artist and the public. For example, every object that look simple in his artwork contains a small daily story of him, and it is also fun to listen to the story. And among the objects, there are sometimes skeletons, which are unusual and spooky materials, which are said to have been painted in memory of them, feeling the sadness of losing many people due to war and infectious diseases. The subject of death also satirizes the frailty of human life and materialism, placing beaut iful and shiny crowns, limited edition Jordan, or colorful flowers together.

Since all his works were influenced by human lives and deaths, he tries to make it acceptable to anyone by expressing the heavier and sad themes more beautifully. And recently he ‘s starting to enjoy trying to transform the techniques that he’s been insisting on and adding surreal and interesting elements to his traditional and fundamental still life, so he’s turning out to be a much more promising artist.
